L’Acadie… from a different perspective
Éditions Perce-Neige is a small independent French-language publisher based in Moncton, New Brunswick, on Canada’s Atlantic coast.
Founded in 1980, Perce-Neige boasts a rich catalogue of poetry, novels, literary non-fiction, and drama. It publishes emerging and established Acadian and Francophone authors, bringing the voices representing the unique language, culture, and heritage of Acadie to Atlantic Canadian, Canadian, and international readerships.
Éditions Perce-Neige is named after a flower that blooms under a thin cover of snow in early spring. This flower symbolizes our history and ambitions: resilient, driven, and unique, Perce-Neige contributes significantly to Francophone Atlantic Canada’s literary ecosystem.
From our official linguistic minority setting, we proudly celebrate and represent the linguistic, cultural, and literary realities of our region. From the shores of Baie Sainte-Marie to the backyards of Kent County, from the forests of Madawaska to the beaches of Baie des chaleurs, our books are firmly anchored in Francophone Acadie, Mi’kma’ki, and Atlantic Canada. We’d be happy to find works that align with your catalogue. You’ll find our English-language catalogue here, or you can write to
The Littoral collection: Atlantic literatures in translation
Harnessing the maritime lilt of both Acadie and its Atlantic setting, Perce-Neige embraces Atlantic literatures and is looking for opportunities to translate these into French. We welcome submissions from Anglophone Atlantic Canada, Ireland, Scotland, England, the British Isles, the eastern seabord of the United States and elsewhere, places that share an Atlantic pathos or embrace its Atlantic coasts.
